Generosity is Our Privilege
Jesus understood the challenges we would face with our finances. Often, we think everything we have belongs to us, but Psalm 24:1 reminds us that everything in the world, including us, belongs to the Lord. Why do we tithe? The Word of God teaches us that it’s about recognizing Christ’s lordship in our lives. Generous giving helps us prioritize Christ, reminding us that God is in control and meets all our needs.
“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.” – Malachi 3:10
This is the only place in Scripture where God invites us to test Him. Essentially, He’s saying, “Go ahead. I dare you. See if you can out-give me.”
