What Kind of Church is VIVE Houston?
We are a church located in the Near Northside / Heights Area of Houston, Texas.
We are a multi-cultural, multi-lingual, and multi-generation community.
VIVE Houston started in September 2019 with just 16 people who believed God was calling them to reach the city. Since then, we have continued to grow by reaching the community, preaching the Gospel, and winning the lost.
What Does “VIVE” Mean?
VIVE is pronounced like the word “revive.”
We took the last part of revive because that’s what we believe God does — He revives hearts, restores families, and renews purpose.
In Spanish, vive means “to live.”
That’s intentional.
VIVE represents life — spiritual life, abundant life, revived life. Our heart is to see people truly live the life God created them for. Not just survive. Not just exist. But live with purpose, faith, and passion.
Our Story: A Burden for Houston
After Hurricane Harvey struck Houston in 2017, Pastors George & Rocio Carballo felt a deep burden for the city. What they saw was more than physical damage — they saw spiritual and emotional need across communities from every walk of life.
Through prayer and obedience, that burden turned into a calling.
In September 2019, VIVE Houston launched with 16 people and a clear mission: to reach Houston with the Gospel and build a church that reflects the diversity, resilience, and faith of this city.

Our Mission
Our mission is simple.
Love. Live. Lead.
It’s who we are and in the fabric of our DNA. Everything we do is devoted to these things in order so that people may find life in Christ.
In Houston As It Is Heaven.
Houston is the fourth largest city in the United States and is projected to become the third largest within the next decade. With over 6 million people in the greater Houston area, you might think there is no need for another church.
But statistics tell another story.
Houston consistently ranks high in areas such as poverty, crime, and abortions. There is spiritual hunger and brokenness in our city — and opportunity.
The harvest is plentiful.
We are living in a prime moment to reach people right here in Houston.
The Northside neighborhood is our primary focus, but our heart extends across the entire city. From Spring to Sugar Land, from Montrose to Magnolia Park — we are called to reach Houston.
